We’re all about making overlanding accessible and affordable to average Joes like us. Sometimes that means saving some cash by compromising a bit of quality. We both did that with our Smittybilt winches. Overall they work just fine, but for colder climates, the lower quality grease becomes so stiff that free-spooling becomes nearly impossible. Fortunately, it only takes some time and elbow grease to get it working properly. So here’s how you regrease Smittybilt (and many other) winches.
